Daniel Kajmakoski – Biography Timeline

Daniel was born on October 17, 1983, in Struga, Macedonia.


At the age of 6, Daniel and his family moved to Vienna, Austria. He has two brothers, Dalibor (older) and Filip (younger).

Daniel first showed interest in music when he was a young boy, playing with his father’s musical instruments.

His first public performance was at school event in Vienna, where he sang in front of his classmates, teachers and parents.

Teenage years

Daniel enrolled at The Music High School in Vienna. The highest achievement of his teenage years was winning a national singing competition. Sometime after the competition (at the age of 16) Daniel was expelled from The Music High School because he didn’t fit the school’s “image.”


Daniel competed in the Starmania talent show in Vienna, placing in the top 12 participants.


Daniel placed in the top 10 in the Bulgarian talent show, Pei sa Men (“Sing with Me.”)


Daniel performed his original composition, “Nežna ko princeza”, which he written and composed for the “Ohridski trubaduri” music festival in Ohrid, Macedonia.


He wrote a song for Karolina Gočeva (an established Balkan artist) called “Više se ne vraćas,” which became a big hit in Macedonia and throughout the Balkans.


Daniel released several German language songs for the Austrian and German market: Am Ende des Tunnels (“At the End of the Tunnel”), Ich bleib nich thier (“Do Not Stay Here”) and Ich brenn dir liebe ein (“I burned your love.”)

2013/2014  (The Dream Come True) – Winning Daniel Kajmakoski X Factor Finals

In 2013 Daniel auditioned for the first season of X Factor Adria. He performed the song “Red” by Daniel Merriweather in the first round, wowing the judges and becoming an early favorite in the competition. He went on to win X Factor on March 23, 2014.

2014 (Year of Projects)

‘’Zlatna Bubamara” Music Discovery of the Year Award (established and well-regarded awards show in Macedonia).

X Factor Adria concert in Skopje – approximately 7,000 fan stunned in for the live performance of all finalists in the first regional competition.

Single “Skoplje – Beograd” – Daniel’s first collaboration with his X Factor Adria mentor Željko Joksimović. After the release of the song, Daniel was the featured guest star at Željko Joksimović’s concert in Skopje.

‘’Love Stimulation’’ (LoveFest Anthem2014) – John Jogurt, Calavera & Manya Feat. Daniel Kajmakoski.

Makfest 2014’’ (renowned music festival in Macedonia) – Performed as a special guest on the closing night of the music festival.

‘’Love people’’–Campaign song – Fundraising Benefit – Aid for Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia Floods.

“Pivofest 2014” Opening act for the annual beer festival in Prilep, Macedonia, in front of more than 100,000 people.

’Runjićeve večeri“ Live performance of the song “Jedan od mnogih” sung with Nina Badrić (traditional tribute festival dedicated to Croatian music composer Zdenko Runjić).

Ne mogu protiv srca svog“ (Can’t Go Against My Heart) – song for soundtrack of the movie “Bićemo prvaci sveta’’ (We’ll be World Champions), produced by IntermediaNetwork.

“Sekoj‘’(Every) –opening song for the ‘’Zlatno Slavejce” children’s festival (Macedonia).

‘’Autumn Leaves” (Lisja esenski) – This song took first place at Skopje Fest and was selected to represent Macedonia at Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria.

Macedonian Radio Awards (MARS) Idol of the Year 2014 Award

‘’Za mig ‘’ – Release of duet with Tamara Todevska (established Macedonian singer).

‘’Live It’’ – Participated in the project for the official anthem of The World Handball Cup, Qatar 2015.

2015‘’Zlatna Bubamara” Singer of the Year Award (major award show in Macedonia).
